- Actually, this sounds about right. The problem is that the 95% sit around with their thumbs up their asses and let it happen.

... that the 5% dangerous thugs and racists on the force put the 95% in harms way making police work more difficult and perilous than it needs to be by changing public perception, and doing real and lasting damage to community relations.

be curious to see what percentage of cases of "Resisting Arrest" charges out of total arrests for the officers in the 5%. Are there some officers who have resisting arrest charges in almost 100% of their arrests?
I recall the two journalists arrested in the Ferguson McDonalds having to keep shouting, "I am not resisting!" Since the officers kept shouting, "stop resisting!" They were charged with resisting despite it being secretly filmed, then later all charges were dropped after a night in jail. I am sure there were no charges brought against the officers for filing false charges. Can you imagine the D.A. in Ferguson filing charges against the cops for anything at this point?

I'm actually surprised it isn't higher. But then, "resisting" is a charge so commonly tacked on that I guess the distribution is pretty great.

I wonder how many "resisters" were resisting what turned out to be a wrongful arrest? Was a time when it was considered perfectly reasonable for one to do that.

I was a deputy with the Sheriff's Department, and slightly over 3% of all officers countywide accounted for 100% of the resisting arrest charges.

Asking why you're being arrested is considered resisting. Flinching or holding your hands in front of you face in defense of being struck is resisting. And everyone is going for the Cop's gun. These are dangerous times my friends.
