They call Jeb "the smart one" - although it's likely just a matter of degree.

(725 posts)If it weren't for so many gerrymandered districts allowing both the House and Senate to be in the Republican majority, it would be comical, the clowns and fools and dangerous Randian libertarians and misogynist fools they run for office, especially the White House.
Most of us with a brain thought Sarah Palin for VP was a joke, (that McCain already knew he was going to lose, so why not pick a cute caribou Barbie to make the Alaskans happy?) but now these Repulicans actually are scraping the bottom of the barrel, thinking Romney again or and other Bush is a rational choice, (indeed the Republican's "MOST rational" choice?)

(719 posts)It reminds me of a racist joke I heard at work, right after Obama was first elected...something to the effect of, "If ten of them can't run a McDonald's, how can one of them run this country?"
Not being snarky about your comment (with which I agree), just having one of those flashbacks we oldsters get from time to time...if we're lucky. Although it is possible that the whole candidate's-brother-being-the-governor-of-the-state-that-decided-the-election thing was just a coincidence. (Hey, a one-in-a-million shot is technically a possibility...according to Lloyd Christmas, anyway.)
I guess seeing that pic made me think of Dumb and Dumber.

(725 posts)Really, I was thinking of starting a thread about how this guy, (who just happens to be George W's brother), never really exhibited a want to become president before last week.
He has no internal motivation!!!!!!! Sort of like that other Republican they pulled out of the closet, last time around.. the actor guy, never got far because his lack of motivation was obvious. What was his name? He was on Law and Order, as an actor playing the part of a D.A. Can't even remember his name now.
Edited to add my brain finally kicked-in and went to work

Just another Republican in name only, who is really just after the publicity, not really willing to work like a "slave" like we expect Obama to do. (Yeah, us white middle class liberals who post here expect Obama to act like he owns the Congress, when a hundred gerrymandered districts and a poor campaign strategy from the Dems led to no one winning a seat away from a Republican district in Congress).
Politics is an ugly business, let's face it, and most of the Republican wannabe's are just nuts, and now Jeb Bush wants to run for prez? When he never had that fire for the last 8 years in his belly like Obama did?
Jeb Bush, running because his mother and father have that surname. George W., ran for office and lost the popular vote in 2000, but he had a Supreme Court to anoint him.
Obviously, we have to contend with these fools, who never wanted the job but were glad to run. I wonder how many days a Jeb Bush President would spend drinking on some boat off the shores of Miami if he won.

(11,175 posts)Out of all the Republicans who've been seriously mentioned as possible 2016 nominees, there's a good argument that he's the one who'd make the best President.
Now, before you jump all over me for saying something even remotely positive about Jeb, answer a question -- from the universe of prospects that I specified ("Republicans who've been seriously mentioned as possible 2016 nominees" , which one do you think would make a better President than Jeb?
He might also be the one who has the best chance of winning the general election. I know he has a toxic last name. I still think he'd be a stronger candidate than Cruz or Paul or Rubio or Perry.

(750 posts)This is Project Grand Slam going for gold. They know America is loaded with the majority that will watch commercials and vote against their intensions. That is spooky action at a distance.
Perhaps we are witness to one of Einstein's predictions in Quantum Mechanics. Einstein mentioned something like there is action at a distance, he called it spooky action.
However,

If Jeb really does make a run for president, the Media, Cable, Hate Radio talk and especially the commercial time is exposing the real wide open in your face cash cow political machinery. All known and operated by both parties.
The open air, or free air mainstream Media Journalist are the front line of the political cash cow profiteering machine. The cable and satellite are there too.
The everyday Journalist sound off to the ninety nine percent area. These everyday propaganda machines are the links to the ninety nine percent of America that have been intentionally schooled for no brain commercial advertising.
Gerrymandering, corporate franchising, Central Banking and Reverse Mortgage are key political tools too in what is an action at a distance oligarchy society that will be firmly establish.
So far it pays off to sack the treasury wage wars all the while committing war crimes, and torture. So far we have not felt the real misery of what is to come. This Political governance uses terror and fear has paid off extremely well for the profiteers.
Or as Rush Limbaugh says frequently Screwled in education. Most of these electorate will vote against their interest with the right persuasion with follow up commercials. This has been going on for the past decades.
The political figures will float trial balloon with Jeb as an experiment because if you could buy insurance from a lizard or a pig the media could convince you Jeb Bush is the second coming of Christ.
These lieutenants of the political cash cow machine, the political profiteers are polished and paid very, very well. They are the modern mercenaries of the new system that Bush and Company has used since the civil war they are Carpet Baggers in the new millennium.
