Wisdom Teaching: Marianne Williamson

Taking a risk in posting this one.

I am not a theist, nor am I am atheist, but there is a prohibition on posting "religious" videos in this section. However, I don't see this presentation as such exclusively, maybe others will and I leave it to the moderators to first view the content and decide on that. I defer to your judgement on the matter. Is wisdom limited to conventional, religious thinking and dogma, or are their some gray lines in the excluded middle?

What is important is the context and the intent of the lecture since it is not promoting any particular religion. This is a talk directed at people in the tech industries that, from what I infer, not only transcends the usual topics involved in tech or "mindfulness" but brings to light some rather important relationships. Perhaps we can agree that, socially, politically and economically, the issue of the suffering and death brought about by inequality and a blind indifference to its actual, concrete impact on people and life is worthy of emphasizing and noting. The views expressed are activist in nature and an interesting perspective in reference to compassion for those affected by ignorant affluence and I think that the way it is presented transcends some of the boundaries of traditional thinking on all sides of the aisle.

This is a very spirited and thought provoking talk and I hope it can be allowed to stay here for perusal and discussion as it is not intended to promote any particular view and could also be construed as a philosophical or humanitarian form of insight to the open minded. And, maybe, it could be seen as a popping up and out of the divisive lines and compartmentalization that provide a sense of disconnection and alienation in these times.

All in all, this is a very moving and pertinent talk.
