On edit: Let's race from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to Boise. You take a Tesla and I'll go to a random used car lot with $7500 in my pocket. It's only 400 miles from the Supercharger in CDA to the Supercharger in Boise, so you will probably want a generator with you.

I've driven some VERY fast cars, but that thing is scary!

I want one.

So if I take some bottles back, turn over a few sofa cushions, and smash my piggy bank...

Because with an electric motor you have maximum torque at 0 RPM and the gas motor is just the opposite.
