I only hear 5 shots in the video, not 7. When were the last 2 fired? 6 shots were close range, possible 3 feet way. One shot to his head was with gun almost against his head. I don't hear punches, grunts, or moans from getting punched. The audio sound more as if the officier is chasing the kid, who likely was trying to get away. The small laceration to policeman's forehead could be from gun recoil. It is unliking from a punch to his head. The kid was not aggressive at all during the entire event. Although not following orders, he was respectful, calling the policeman officer, etc.
When I first saw video, I figured the kid didn't have his license and was afraid of the consequences, therefore he was trying to talk his way out of providing the info. The lid was wrong and should have just explained his situation. That he misplaced his wallet at his girlfriends. But he is a kid after all. The officer was acting like a jackass the entire time. The officer could have explained that he just needed to run background check and was not going to ticket him for flashing his lights. He knew before he even pulled the kid over that he had a headlight problem with his spanking new 2015 SUV. The officer knew his lights had blinded other motorists. The officier knew the kid wasn't lying about being blinded and gave believable reason why he flashed his high beams.

(423 posts)Very sad and tragic. It was apparent that the officer did not like his authority or perceived authority questioned by a kid. This is a mentality that exits in and outside of police enforcement. I've seen parents, bosses, soldiers exhibit similar behavior. Arming people who behave like this with a weapon is dangerous- the video is an expected outcome.

(1,539 posts)The 17 year old was protecting the public, attempting to signal that the policeman's headlights were a hazard. The policeman knew he had a problem from two other people who had flashed their high beams at him. So why was the policeman acting as if the kid had done anything illegal, when he hadn't.
The policeman could have waited for back up to arrive. There was no reason to yank the kid out of the car, have him lie along the side of the road, taser him and then fire seven bullets into his body, one of which was point blank into his brain.
