Love this exchange where Hillary showed her sense of humor and the Republican's utter lack of it.
"Who else was at your home, were you alone?" Roby asked.
"I was alone, yes," Clinton replied.
"The whole night?" Roby asked.
"Well, yes, the whole night," Clinton said, bursting with laughter.
"Well, I don't know why that's funny," Roby said.

Yay Hillary, for taking on the Fools and beating them at their own game.

(1 post)Ms Roby was the female GOP poster child who badgered the witness with her ridiculous line of "questions"
The only purpose of her "who was there and what time did you leave" was to badger Hillary into a "gotcha moment" and to somehow show her as "uncaring".
The only thing Ms Roby accomplished was to showcase her stupidity and willingness to be a GOP pawn.
sophisticated, intelligent, compassionate....she was not.
a total annoying nothing

yes, this whole thing is a charade.
but no, the question isn't really funny considering the reasoning behind it.
senses of humor aren't necessary. and Hillary laughing it off is more along the lines of a tactical parry in conversation.
so.... yeah

(1,397 posts)The clown who was questioning Hillary about whether or not she was home alone was a "she" -- Rep. Martha Roby, Republican, who represents a southeast Alabama district. Roby is a Tea Party clown who is reminiscent of Sarah Palin, only dumber.

(21,054 posts)Well, let's face it...if she has no clue that one should have clean hear when televised on national TV, then the question from her was not a surprise. Stupid, but not surprising.
IMO, how about a bottle of Suave Shampoo sent to her office with a request to use it where necessary?
Ed Suspicious
(8,879 posts)that is actually legitimate?
I think of my daughter, who is pregnant, who was recently degraded because her hair looked (greasy). It really hurt her feelings. Empathy creeps in and it makes me start to feel for this lady in spite of her vile line of questioning.

(2,412 posts)This may seem petty but I think that a person who is a public official with an important office has a duty to look sort of normal.
She looks possibly mentally ill or possibly recovering from a bad night. Women have high standards and should take care how they appear to the public when they are representing the public. The message this person is giving is very off. This was a brilliant exchange on Clinton's part.

(651 posts)Where did the Alabama republican party dig up that exemplary piece of southern trailer trash from? She looked like she just came out of Bob's County Bunker after a night of heavy drinking. That pasty piece of Alabama womanhood had more um's in her questioning than a group of Gregorian Chanters.

(13,854 posts)After all the s**t the Clinton's went through the first time around with a failed land deal turning into an investigation of a White House sexual affair, a reasonable person would have to at least think the Republicans are looking for anything to jump on. Her laugh makes perfect sense.

(6,699 posts)How repuKKKes can get elected that are this blatantly bland and stupid. Someone is NOT doing their job to find decent, intelligent and otherwise "normal" persons to run against such losers on the Democratic ticket. This bozo should be in the top ten targets.
Granted, the who district may not be much smarter, in many cases, but it blows my mind to think someone that low on the food chain can get elected to such a high office.

(8,392 posts)"Yes, I was alone. Well, except for the callboy I kept on the State Dept. payroll."
But then, I suppose if she had said something like that, the idiot Republicans would have launched yet another investigation.
