Many times while working in the yard I rushed back inside to answer the phone and found it wasn't beeping.

along with the usual other birds songs. To be expected in an urban environment, but I still find it sort of funny.

I let my dog out last week, and suddenly heard (I thought) her barking at another dog. I looked outside and saw a huge red squirrel and my dog barking at each other.

That squirrel was barking like a dog.
