(5,902 posts)To have done something so bestial and treasonous, straight-faced, and then to have gotten away without even the slightest media scrutiny.
That takes talent.

(196 posts)Yes, it was totally awe-inspiring to every fascist in this part of the galaxy!
how awesome was your idiot brothers response to dire warnings that we were about to be attacked. If I recall his response to being told an attack was imminent was to tell the national security adviser that he had covered his ass and then Bush went on vacation. Maybe awesome wasn't the right word. How about despicable?

(28,498 posts)And waterboarded until he releases the 28 pages he redacted from the official 9/11 Commission report!
The 28 pages primarily relate to who financed 9/11 and they point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia as being the principal financier, said former Sen. Bob Graham, D-Florida, who co-chaired the inquiry and helped to write the report.
Saudi Arabia has denied any involvement. The report in question is the Joint Inquiry Into Intelligence Activities Before and After the Terrorists Attacks of September 2001. It was an investigation by House and Senate committees, released in December 2002.
The position of the United States government has been to protect Saudi Arabia, former senator Graham contended.
At virtually every step of the judicial process, when the United States government was called upon to take a position, it has been a position adverse to the interests of United States citizens seeking justice and protective of the government which, in my judgment, was the most responsible for that network of support, Graham said, referring to Saudi Arabia.
Today, Graham joined Reps. Walter Jones, R-North Carolina, and Stephen Lynch, D-Massachusetts, who introduced legislation calling on President Obama to declassify the 28 pages.

You know the Saudi Arabia? Our friends and allies? The country with the pampered-pervert prince who wanted to see naked p***y?

-I could go for some pretzels and beer right about now.
-I wonder what time Reba's on?
-Did I turn off the stove before coming here?
-I wish I had a bunker like uncle Dick's!
Nothing awe inspiring about that.

(10,094 posts)Like all Republicans, they try to rewrite history. I'm actually kind of surprised that the majority are not falling for it.
I loved how in the debate that the most animated this second idiot son got was when he tried to defend his brother's presidency.
He kept us safe! Do you remember the rubble? Gosh, what kind of delusional thinking would prompt such idiotic statements?

(6,409 posts)I'm not a psychiatrist, but... I figure if the climate change deniers can say, "I'm not a scientist, but..." then I should be able to get inside Jeb Bush's head with absolutely no qualifications. My theory is that he's intentionally torpedoing his own run at the presidency. I mean, he could defend his brother without expressing it in such categorical terms. "He did what he thought was right." "He took action based on the best information he could get." Something like that. Sure, he has to defend his brother, or people will think he's disloyal, but he's way, way over the top, making statements that transcend the ridiculous and shoot right for the sublime. I think he likes running for president, but does not want the nomination, let alone the actual job. Unlike his brother, he recognizes his limitations. Well, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it, kind of like Jeb is sticking with his story.

(27,247 posts)I don't know if he was actually reading the book, though, since the kids were actually reading it to him. Watching all of those kids reading about a goat to him, in unison, just after he had supposedly been informed about the attack on the second tower, was a truly surreal moment.
It's a shame that Michael Moore edited most of Bush's bizarre reaction, as shown in the school's video, from Fahrenheit 911 and added his own unnecessary commentary. It would have been far more effective just to include the whole unedited video of Bush's non-action, without commentary, and let that speak for itself.

Even seems like the SS would demand he be escorted out. I guess they felt he was safer there.

(27,247 posts)The still shot of this video (which appears at 5:04 in the video) shows Andy Card, Bush's chief of staff, whispering something into Bush's ear for a couple of seconds. He supposedly said "The second tower's been hit-- America's under attack", but there's no way he could have crammed all that into two seconds.
