It is impossible not to feel some disaster fatigue, given the competing horrendous floods of LA and the fires in CA, but it seems to me that the cruel nature of these floods upon people with no real warning and many not even eligible for flood insurance--even if they could afford it, is beyond tragic.

Nothing I can afford to do will make much difference, but even a few $$ to Red Cross might help.

say please don't donate to Red Cross. Find a local organization on the ground that employs volunteers and has a low overhead. The Red Cross was NOT good during Katrina, I've been told.
