(633 posts)The best that can be said here about Romney's concern for the troops in Afghanistan and their mission, is that he is 'committed' they be part of a 'strong' military.
I expect the troops in their current situation didn't feel strengthened or committed to by this unresponsive, oh-so-campaigny answer.
Romney doesn't seem to realise he has an opportunity to be statesmanly *now* as the leader of his party, whether he gets elected or not - and that it stirs anxiety when he can't say anything about anything without a partisan shot at Obama tagged on the end.
