David Pakman: Bill Clinton's Speech Puts Fact-Checkers Out of Business

Last edited Mon Sep 10, 2012, 04:26 PM - Edit history (1)

At the start David says Bush is associated with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; I would take that a step further and point out that the Republicans have clearly been making an effort to associate Obama with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan- particularly Afghanistan. It really seems as though they're trying to make Afghanistan Obama's war- despite the fact that it began 7 years before he took office. Trotting out W at their convention would have made it much harder to keep that fact in the memory hole.

Bill Clinton was a great president was the fact that he could get the two parties to realize they had to work together. Something they refuse to do now.

than the thugs Obama's been dealing with. I doubt that even Clinton would have succeeded with the tea baggers in the House.
