TV campaigning for the presidency has changed beyond recognition.

&feature=player_detailpage

Here is a four minute spot for Kennedy starring Henry Fonda. It's a dignified and informative piece with no mention of Richard Nixon.

I re-discovered this site: http://www.livingroomcandidate.org/

They have a catalog of all tv ads in presidential elections since 1952. Prepare to lose an evening looking at them.

When you review the elections year by year you'll notice how the game changed in 1988.

Sheldon could hire Hank Williams Jr. or Clint Eastwood to reflect glowingly about Romney's days overseas. Imagine the courage of dodging crazed French taxi drivers - having to endure repulsive French cusine and beveages - availing himself to the indifference of the natives when trying to convert them to his comic book religion. Those are experiences that reflect the true character of this battle-hardened veteran.
