Florida Man Rips Plastic Partition and Attacks Lyft Driver

The driver, a 47-year-old Palm Coast man, told deputies he picked the trio up in Flagler Beach and was driving them to Smith’s residence along Rockne Lane when Smith began assaulting him from the backseat.
The man had a plastic divider installed in his car that served as a partition between the front and back seats. The driver, whose name was redacted from reports, told Smith he bought the partition on eBay due to COVID-19. Deputies indicated the plastic divider is supposed to provide a protective barrier between the driver and passengers during rides.
Smith told deputies the driver began driving erratically, blowing through red lights and putting him and his friends’ lives in danger, the report stated. He said he grabbed the man to force him to pull over.
But the driver’s vehicle was equipped with a dashboard cam, which captured the entire incident in the car’s interior cabin and proved Smith’ story to be a lie, according to reports.
