The label says cream but it's more of a lotion consistency.

For my aches and pains. I think the result varies from one person to the next. What I’ve found is that it makes all my sore muscles relax in the evening and that when I skip it I feel more stiff in the morning.

I hope it helps

and there are many CBD types. I just got a crash course in CBDs relative to legal hemp with the THC bred out of it. The grower and I have been working out different product types lately with a variety of uses.

We have found that:

Fresh plant is useful an a tonic sort of juice - like in a Vitamix with spring water was helpful as an over all tonic. Drawbacks, strong diuretic properties will make you urinate a lot in the first two days, after that we developed a tolerance that we found varies with strength of the juice; how much plant/water. The tonic gave us, (60+ yos), lots of stamina sans the normal aches and pains and the ability to get up the next day and not feel like death. I wouldn't want to use it to continue my working career but for a given lengthy project, maybe 5-6 weeks max, I could see using it as my go to thing.

We are both herbal remedy makers so we spent several months preparing different products from oils and tinctures to salves and dry powder additive for juice drinks.

So, if you have and oil, you can use it like a tonic in a beverage, I hear a few drops at a time is sufficient for a number of ailments. You can also use it as a topical and smear it into you skin, it helps a number of levels of tissue below the skin. I use it on my shoulders and feet in salve form (I infused it into coconut oil, when it chills, it's a nice salve texture that melts almost on contact, it's nice.) And you can use it endlessly unlike things such as comfrey or arnica which can poison you eventually. Never heard of anyone OD-ing on CBDs. The pain goes away for hours and frees up my joints and some other things I won't report on yet.

Tinctures can be used much the same way, just plant soaked in some kind of alcohol, like Everclear. Tinctures can be added to beverages by the drop as well, oils and tinctures tend to be a bit concentrated regarding plant potency of properties. Tinctures, oils and drying are best ways to preserve herbs. Salves can last a few years if stored well.

I hope it works for you. I have had a couple people, whom I gave salve to, have reported good results for the use they applied to it.

Another thing we found, you can smoke it and it can have very calming effects without the THC buzz. Good for anxiety. I didn't smoke it but I was the official observer when the crew decided to try it. What I saw were people who were working on a construction project that was frustrating them go from that state to more relaxed, clear-thinking and open minded people more receptive to alternatives. They agreed that they noticed the relaxed part and liked it for that.

8. I started using CBD oil a few months ago...

for shoulder and hip pain and also major anxiety flare up! I started with a 1000 mg full spectrum oil. Then I moved to 500 mg because it was cheaper, and it works even better!
I started with 3-5 drops under my tongue, hold it there as long as possible. I do this twice a day on "regular" days and find taking an extra dose if something big is going on really helps.

This stuff seems to be pretty amazing. Now when I need an ibuprofen for bigger pain flare ups, it actually works! It seems like it does some magic on pain receptors in the brain.

Good luck and I hope you find something to help!

15. I don't know if a topical cream would be contraindicated, but ingesting CBD oil

is risky for sure with certain meds--including calcium channel blockers.

I am actually going to try the cream, since even if some gets absorbed it probably won't be too much.

I hope.

Here's a link. There are many articles about the risks of ingesting the oil with certain meds, but I can't find into about topical use.

11. I have arthritis in both knees but a more serious case of it in my left knee...

I have been using Evolu+ion CBD Topical Serum for pain since late September. I use about 6 drops on my left knee about once a week - the CBD oil relieves any swelling and takes the edge off the pain.

My brother also has a bad shoulder, he needs surgery but does not have health care yet on his new job! He will rub a few drops in on his shoulder and it takes the edge off his pain for several hours.

so we have to experiment. In general, it's wise to use the least amount you can and take a break from time to time. That's been my experience with many herbs, OTC supplements and some prescription meds as well. When we read reviews of CDB and other alternative treatments, we often see everything from "it's a miracle" to "didn't do a damn thing".

I have a very sensitive system to many chemicals, yet a high tolerance to a few. For example, I've tried Effexor for depression and I can do with one-tenth the amount one of my friends takes, and we're near the same age.

On the other hand, I was hoping CDB would be a miracle product for both inflammation pain and for depression, but it wasn't meant to be. That damn stuff makes me very absent-minded after only a few days, even at low dosages. It did knock the edge off my depression, but St. John's Wort and some other supplements do just as well with little side-effect and at a much lower cost. I did buy high-quality CDB from Colorado's Charlotte's Web (both liquid and capsule form).

I use Boswellia and Tart Cherry herbs for inflammation, and many people rave over Black Seed Oil. So, try to stay open-minded and perhaps consider experimenting with alternatives. For example, I make an essential oil blend for several friends for joint and muscle pain that works really well, and I give it to them in a roll-on.

Best of luck, and it's great we have so many folks here on DU that can relate!.....

my shoulder problem isn't chronic, I am looking for CBD to help with the days when the pain is more acute, until I get better.
