3. How common are double-doink field goal attempts?

I can recall one other upright-crossbar one, and one upright-upright... if I am recalling correctly. I cannot remember, however, what the teams/kickers involved were. But I don't watch as much football as some people. Maybe it happens more regularly than I appreciate.

Unfortunately this outcome is going to reinforce coaches' "icing the kicker" behavior which as a viewer I find rather tiresome. Every time it goes the other way (miss the iced attempt, make the real attempt) I cheer a little.

I predicted this after the fifth upright-hitting kick of the season.

Being a fan of Chicago sports teams is heartbreaking about 98% of the time.

that he was tied for 2nd with the most missed field goals this year at 10.

Then she went Uh-oh. After the completed iced kick, "maybe, just maybe"....

12. Why blame the kicker for the loss? Yes he came in at the last minute to save the game, but......

it's a team effort. He wouldn't have had to kick a game saving FG if the rest of the team had performed better. What about the quarterback? Could he have completed more passes, not gotten an interception? What about the WR's, were there passes they should have gotten they didn't, that would have changed the game? What about the Defensive team? Could they have stopped a run or broken up a play that resulted in a 1st down?

Not specifically saying this game, just saying in general, it always seems like the kicker either win the game or losses it when they're brought in at the last minutes to kick a game winning FG. Don't think they should get that much credit/blame either way. Just saying.

I know this particular kicker was pretty bad all season. This was his 12th missed FG.

nobody will remember the 3 kicks he made this game. And you're right - those kicks should have been touchdowns negating the necessity for this season ending kick.

As much as I hate to see the Eagles win, it doesn't hurt my feelings that now they get to go to New Orleans and Dallas goes to LA. I think we can get to Goff but the Saints are probably still pretty mad at us for beating them during the regular season.

But then if we do beat LA and get to the conference championship - it will be either NO or Philly and that's gonna be tough just because we've have already beat them both this season and my gut feeling is it's hard to beat a team in the post-season when you've already beaten them the regular season.
