I'm in the interior of Washington state. Very little snow here this winter. Does not bode well for fire season.

I'm trying to remember the last time we reached January with no significant snow fall. I haven't had to break out the snow blower, or even a snow shovel, yet.

non-mountain areas of Montana, most of which is at 5K+ elevation And north of the 45th parallel.

An instant mini blizzard* just blew into town, it's been above freezing nearly the past month so the ground isn't really frozen so if there's any left after the 40-50mph winds go by, it will melt by Thursday.

*There are many types of snowstorms and a mini blizzard would be an intense storm that blows in and away like a cloudburst. In this case, I'm watching the snow blow sideways but it's not snowing so hard that I can't see across the street so it's not really a blizzard by local standards. Mini means that it will be over in an hour or two, or less and the sun may appear afterward.
