*SPOILER ALERT* if anyone taped "The Bold and The Beautiful" today
So I'm in the break room at lunch and the TV is on CBS I think. Two coworkers come in and I think they are discussing the soap opera because they keep mentioning Wayne Brady ("Whose Line.." the new "Let's Make a Deal" ) and referring to "the Doctor". I'm watching a woman in a hospital bed just, understandably, falling apart. Her mother, I think, is trying to console her. Cut to a guy who looked a lot like Chris Pratt in another room - OF COURSE - taking to two older gentleman. He's crying. Next time I looked up who was there but Wayne Brady in scrubs.
My coworkers explained that he, the doctor, needs $200,000 fast so he has arraigned to steal the baby. Telling the parents that...well you know. Makes perfect sense.
Personally I was offended. How could the writers have not made it twins and then one disappears. This would have set up a standard soap opera "evil twin" story line in the future. It's like they're not even trying anymore.

(9,257 posts)And will be caring for my infant granddaughter all day. I am considering getting re-hooked on The Young And The Restless, which I havent watched regularly since the early 90s when I was home with this childs uncle. Once in a while Ill read a plot synopsis and many of the characters are still there 27 years later. (Nikki and Victor are still breaking up/back together regularly).
Of course since soap operas seem to be headed towards extinction, just my luck theyll cancel Y & R after I get hooked again.

(5,810 posts)I started watching as a teenager (during the summer) of 1965. I watched for many years and saw Strephano Dimera terrorize Salem, get killed off and came back to start terrorizing them again. The Horton Family were the pillars of the community with their share of family dysfunction, murder and intrigue. In the 80s I went back to college to complete my degrees so saw it only sporadically. Now that I am retired, I tune in once every ten years or so! LOL. Amazingly enough Stephano was still around and doing evil things. I cant imagine watching daily any more. Once a decade is plenty. 😳
