Boy howdy, what a morning in clinic!



A sexual abuse victim and a sexual abuser all in one clinic session.

The one was not the abuser of the other, but after leaving the exam room of the abuse victim nearly in tears, I wasn't in the best frame of mind to be Physician Assistant Happy Friendly Guy to the abuser (who was here on a DOC-contract visit, ankle monitor and all...)

years ago I was a correctional officer, at the same time I sheltered abused women in my home

Sort of takes any bleeding heart sympathy for perpetrators right out of you. That said, I guess it is important to remember that many offenders were themselves victimized.

I could just never understand why anyone who had those horrors visited upon them would want to inflict them on someone else...
