No, really, I've tended to think in terms of the late bloomer thing, procrastinator, LAZY, underachiever.
So last week who knows who or what brought it up, but the RIPA said, "Don't PEAK TOO SOON. Don't peak in high school or college" or whatever. "Peak AT THE RIGHT TIME."
I was miserable in adolescence. Some friends had a glorious time - I'm talking about Band Captain league. Or my rival who took Valedictorian. I trodded (sp) on, the tortoise vs the hare. The band captain pranced on the football field while I "conducted" to vinyl records at home on Sundays. The valedictorian and I both went to the same public university. I certainly never envied them or wished them ill. The band captain never had a decent job, lived off the kindness and charity of friends and family, his sister telling me, "He never amounted to anything." The valedictorian, who knows, probably married well. Both died 15 or 20 years ago. I survived through some scary times.
I've never gone to a high school reunion, detested it all back then and forever. The organizer kept after me for awhile saying I should go back and see how all us old ones have turned out. No, thank you.
So RIPA framed it perfectly about "peaking". I'm way old now, so whatever/ it's all icing on the cake.
