Watching "The Matrix" on AMC...interesting censorship choices.....

The line said to Neo by Trent when he arrives at the apartment: “Hallelujah man, you’re my savior. My own personal Jesus Christ.” ......
The second sentence was replaced with “My own personal juvenile delinquent.”

Odd choice, especially after the first sentence....but considering the possibly upsetting religious connotations, plus the context of Neo selling him contraband of some sort or another....maybe that’s just lip syncing an attempt at appeasing the masses. Cool

The next bit messed that idea all up.

In the same scene...seconds later....

When Neo asks Trent “Have you ever had that feeling like you’re awake but still dreaming?” To which Trent replies “Mmmm all the time. It’s called mescaline, and it’s the only way to fly.”

The only word censored was “mescaline”.... not a big deal, keep the drug reference out, but it was replaced with......

“Jesus”

“....the only way to fly.”

Ok now I’m confused......

What’s up?

I might also add, the word “Shit” has yet to be censored.

Heard it many times.

Not that I’m offended by any of the original dialogue, I’ve thick enough skin for dirty words and ideas not my own...and wile I’m not a fan of censorship in general (or at all,) I do get that there are those who desire wholesomeness in there broadcasts......but.....

What the hell?

So confused......

Any thoughts?

have you ever tried to watch the censored version of Scarface? every cuss word is censored or altered to the point where its a way different movie. its because the networks don't want someone catching the vapors that their kid heard a swear word or seen a nipple.

you would be better off going onto netflix and watching the unaltered version.

The “cuss words” are still there.....

The censorship seems to be morally driven.....but then....

uncut and unedited...Not sure how they are able to do that, must be all kind of weird rules as to what can be aired edited or unedited...

Also, Walking Dead is very violent, probably more so that most movies that they air...
