Lake effect snow is snow just like snow is snow..
I never knew why all the local weather outlets keep calling it "lake effect snow." "There will be brief periods of lake effect snow on your drive home."
Freakin' A man, it's snow.

People on the windward side wonder "what snow?".

People on the leeward side say "Freakin' A man, it's snow."

But people on the windward side do not get forecasts for 'snow' anyway.

For us here in the leeward side it don't matter..

Those of us who live in the Rochester/Buffalo Finger Lakes area KNOW not to try to drive past Batavia on the NYS Thruway during a snow storm !!

I have several 50' spruce trees just off my back deck. Now they are laden with snow. Gorgeous.
Of course it is also 5 degrees !!

Fortunately no wind-- THAT is the killer.
