As if I needed more junk calls on my cell phone!...

I get so many junk calls I have to keep the phone on silent all the time. I have the settings so that I can receive calls from people in my contacts but you can't block all calls from coming in.

Now apparently my cell number was placed on an MLS listing and forty bazillion real estate agents keep calling. First I though it was just people dialing the wrong number. I did a goggle search and the number didn't come up anywhere publicly. I finally called one of the agents and he said there's no way to fix it but that calls will stop after a while. I'm on week two of this!

I reported an inaccuracy on one site I found but I am not sure it will do any good at this point.

Suggestions?

everything else goes to voice mail. If you are on a Do Not Call Registry, perhaps filing a complaint or two might help long term. My phone is on both the state and federal registries and the complaint forms are online.

never had call issues when I had cell from AT&T but Verizon wants extra money to weed out spam calls. However, AT&T had issues all its own!

caller ID shows from United States. The number shown is not the 888 number they want you to call back. Blocking leads to more calls.

for a few weeks, and the one time I listened to the whole thing, it asked me to press 2 if I wanted to be taken off the list.

At which point I said something a little stronger than "baloney" and did NOT press 2. The calls eventually stopped.

Same thing with junk emails that ask me to "unsubscribe." Yeah, right, sell me a bridge too.

Won't really help for your immediate problem, but will cut down on the others.

since I've been complaining about this for a while. I'm always leery of giving access to my contact list but maybe my contacts are part of the problem!

I'm pretty sure there are others out there. Not sure which one is best, but that's the one I use.

If the wrong phone # is on the MLS listing, then the agent isn't getting calls they should be getting. The listing agent can most definitely correct it.

the problem is it's not for sale any more but real estate people still have the info. I contacted the last known agents (and 2 MLS services) but they haven't been able to help. I don't have time to keep calling agents. The calls died down for about 3 days and now they are calling again. Makes me wonder why/how the info keeps spreading around.

However, I am considering driving to the house and telling the owners they are missing out on all kinds of opportunities. I've also thought about reaching out to some agents that live in my neighborhood and asking them what the hell they would do.
