... until the gator abandoned the non-tasty car parts and waddled off. It won't cost much to put the parts back on, a little wire, a little duct tape, good as new.

The driver just sounded amazed at it all. I hope so.

Seriously, I have lived in Florida all my life. Even though we lived next to a lake that held alligators - in the middle of a subdivision full of kids and pets - none of us locals ever had a problem with the gators. We just let them be.

It wasn't until some Yankees moved in and their yappy dog harassed the gator until one ate it that anyone called Wildlife to have the gator removed. What none of us told the newcomer - they took the smaller gator. The big mama gator was still in the lake and she was at least twice as long as her kid.

I considered the cotton mouth snakes to be much more dangerous - one killed my first dog.

(I don't see why the asshole in the truck couldn't have just left the gator alone)
