along with one package of picoseconds.

I got to meet and hear her speak twice when I was working as a VAX/VMS Systems Manager for Bankers Trust in NYC (the big black building that the south tower of the WTC fell on and damaged).

The second time was a small, intimate meeting with maybe 35 people in the room. She had retired from the Navy and was a consultant and goodwill ambassador for Digital Equipment Corporation. She gave her talk, then handed out the 'nanoseconds' ... and 'picoseconds'. The picoseconds is a packet of ground black pepper with the DIGITAL logo on it.

I treasure these items, and feel honored to have been able to meet this pioneer of the computer world.

What a wonderful experience!

I used to live next to Grace Hopper Memorial Park in Arlington; I really wish I'd had a chance to see her talk.
