I've had to temporarily curtail my garden clean up - and the reason for that is really quite lovely

I was finishing up the day lily trimming and heading toward the peony. An 'out of place' colour caught my eye. Maybe Mother Nature is just adding to the prism rainbow on my wall, this morning, to help me find my center, again.

Maybe an inch long. I've had a much larger one on the side of the house, one night. When I first saw it, I thought it was a bat hanging off of the siding.

Twice I've found a small toad swimming around in it and unable to get out. Now I keep the bucket turned upside down and i put a plant saucer full of water on the ground.

night. It's one of my most favorite times of the day, to listen as city traffic slowly dies down, and the critters of the night start up their nightly routines. Thanks for sharing!!

When one of my granddaughters was about 4, I caught one and let her hold it. It remained calm and when she put it back down, it hopped back into her lap. They are so used to me going in and out of the house by that door that they seem to know they have nothing to fear from me.

There is now a mourning dove nest on the wooden swing on the front porch. The dove watches me cook dinner on my grill a couple times each week. I talk to it while I grill.

....a complete and absolute halt, body and mind, to just take it in and enjoy life's simplicity. If my grandsons are around and I can point out what they may have missed, that makes it even better.
