Nuh-uh!
You can deflect them phaser beams with a saber.
Also, if you have the force with you, you can either push them away by your mind or use lightning.
Some Jedis could even drag a Starship down.

Though yeah, definitely more fun, I must admit, I think I like the women of Trek better.

I think I have to choose Star Wars.

I mean Trek has nice comfy homes and ships and nice comfy progressives, at least in the Federation. But it's also way to unperdictably dangerous. Anonmallys popping up anywhere, anytime, advanced equipment used to manipulate fundamental forces of nature not functioning as designed.

But Star Wars, seems a bit more lively, and a bit more rational in the distribution of danger, and much more diverse.

Our Democratic Republic was taken over by the dark side when Supremes put Bush in charge. (Or when Kennedy was assassinated - It's been under siege for some time. Or maybe it never has truly existed yet)

We are currently fighting as rebels trying to free our Country from it's grasp.

And a lot of stuff in the Original Series that didn't exist has been invented (e.g., the Communicator). Just got to get artificial gravity and that warp drive thing figured out.

Decisions, decisions......

Chill out gang, it's just a fanboy fantasy.

When I was at the Shakespeare in the Park here a few weeks ago, a lady friend joked about having some 'hunky slave boys' to fan her (We had just seen Antony and Cleopatra).

Seriously, I would take the Star Trek universe anytime.

Social breakdown, world war 3, the post-atomic horror.

Things had to get a lot worse before they got good. However, now that we have that knowledge from the future, we can change it
