(9,977 posts)I can see some fine days ahead for the young Pitt to be, cuz I been there.
Raven and my Mom have tons in common with the whole NH Pioneer Lady thing (My Mom can kick Martha Stewart's ass, win the Old Home Day pie contest, and is one of the kindest people on Earth)
Dad was a tough act to follow - natural speedreader, scholarly hillbilly, loved peace and justice as only a hard combat veteran can. Any tool in his hands was a precision instrument, from sledgehammers to Jo blocks. When he passed, the town librarians sent flowers.
In ways that I'm only beginning to understand, growing up with my outwardly stodgy folks was more like being raised by pirates, in a really good way- your kid is in for quite a ride, in the sense of "wouldn't change it for the world".
