I had forgotten all about them...there's a better than 60% chance I have their first album in my vinyl collection...

But you can't ask for psycho-billy and not get the Rev:

I hope more people post - I love this kind of stuff but don't know much and want some good bands to check out...

of records to look for next time I'm at the record store. I had always heard of them but I never really listened to them until this thread and now I wish I had paid more attention to them in the past.

While looking up the Reverend Horton Heat video I also heard some cool stuff by:
The Meteors

Nekromantix

Zombie Ghost Train

partly because I love the Rev anyway and partly because I am a death metal guy. lol.

The only time I've seen the Reverend Horton Heat live he was opening for Motorhead. (Not death metal but Lemmy is close in spirit.)

In fact, that show is what mostly turned me on to TRHH...I'd heard of him before and maybe heard a song or two but his live show kicked ass and made me a believer.

showed up for his first gig with us wearing those same pants! Had the big hair, bandanas, makeup, the whole nine yards. Decent drummer, but just didn't quite fit in with the band.
