It's the little things.

Yesterday I found out a friend of mine killed himself on Monday. I don’t need to get into details, but it crushed me. I don’t deal with death well and when it’s something like this, I become pretty withdrawn and morose.

My husband says he ‘hates’ cats, but when he married me he married my three cats, as well. This morning he was in the kitchen making his lunch and there was this extended and detailed conversation between him and all three cats about who was eating who’s piece of ham and the values of sharing. It lasted about 5 minutes.

It made me laugh...and wish I had recorded it.

I needed it. Doesn’t make it go away, but it gave me a much needed break from sad.

Cherish the little things in life and know that you can’t save the world.

You are right about the little things in life. Everyone should stop and appreciate our loved ones and their funny quirks each day.

Maybe it's better that way. Some of the funniest, warmest, most encouraging things have been a 'surprise'.

I lost a brother that way, not something you truly get over.

You'll make it with the help of your hubby, cats and friends!

I honestly can't imagine. I've had a few friends take their own life, but never a relative. My brother and sister are more like my parents, I don't think I'd make it.

And, yes, I'll be fine. I'm more worried about his kids. I want to be pissed off at him for being selfish, but I can't. Every time I think about how he really screwed up, I cry again.

Guitar player, bass player, singer and a helluva songwriter. Played everything from punk to blues to country.

2 ex-boyfriends and my husband played with him at various points in time. I still have his old band's bumper sticker on my car. I kept meaning to take it off since the band disbanded about 5 years ago. Guess I'll leave it on. God, this just sucks.

Sometime the demons of creative people can be even more intense. Just keep the good memories in front.

Dealing with suicide is hard. My dad killed himself and I am still seriously messed up over it. Maybe find a therapist or something to talk to if you can afford it (I can't but there you go). Not sure what they can do for you, but maybe something.
