Spitballing "Indiana Smith"...uh..."JONES". Fascinating read:

In Hollywood, it's called 'spitballing' when two or three movie folks (in this case two directors and a screenwriter) get together and throw out ideas for a movie concept.

The link is to:
"RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK"
Story Conference Transcript
January 23, 1978 thru January 27, 1978
George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Larry Kasdan

See how Indiana Jones started as Indiana Smith.
It's a very long read. Several pages over several days.
But you see the whole movie begin to take form.
And I was riveted through the whole thing.

Fetch yourself a drink, settle back in a comfortable chair, put your feet up, and enjoy.

As I said, it's a very long read. I spent the better part of a day on it.
If you read it, I'd like to see some comments.

97 Duers read my post and said 'meh, why bother?'
Or went to the link and read at least SOME of it?
And still didn't think it worth commenting on?

To me it sounded like three 10 year olds playing 'what if?'
"Yeah, and what of the guy falls in a pit FULL of snakes?"
"And what if the guy gets in a fight by an airplane and the propellers almost chop him up?"
And that had to be fun when you were a '10 year old' who actually had the wherewithal to make your fantasies become a real movie.
(and make millions of dollars)

Maybe it's just me.
