Personally I think all cars should have them, but they don't.

I have never had a car with one, and got along fine.

(31,110 posts)2. I had one on my previous car, a Corolla hatchback, and I miss it.
It's nice when I have to back out and it's raining heavily or covered with condensed moisture.
I guess if the car has a rearview window camera, it wouldn't matter.

the same way SUVs and minivans do. A wipe down at the gas station every now and again was all I needed for my back window when I owned cars.
I fixed my rear wiper on my minivan with my dad this fall. I don't know how hard it would be to put one on a car, as long as you are okay with drilling a few holes in the steel, there are plenty of motors and whatnot you can buy online.
