but confirms that life goes on.

Had a funeral for my husband 1 year ago, attended birth of older daughter's baby in December, returned from brother in law's funeral 2 weeks ago, and attending younger daughter's baby shower tomorrow.

through my 30's and 40's I still had the occassional friends Mom or Dad die.
Passed 50 last year and thats all over.

Cranky old man took pleasure in reading the obits of friends and enemies from his youth. He'd laugh and remark, "Outlived him. Ha!" This went on for years until one day his daughter found him with the newspaper in his lap and he was crying.

"Father, what's wrong?"

"I've outlived them all."
