i hope you all are having a perfectly lovely day (with a few pics of mine)

i had lunch in the park and then took a leisurely stroll around the lake. it's cloudy and cool today with a bit of a breeze and it feels wonderful. i had originally intended to go to work today to pick up some extra hours, but this was a much better use of my day off.

here's a few pics i shot on my walk

i saw swallows, red-winged blackbirds, flickers and a blue heron in addition to this guy, but he's the only one i could get

the lake from the west side

and from the east side

and flowers abound

now i'm back home, in my jammies and just enjoying some patio time.

We usually have a dozen white pelicans in Boulder every spring and I always wonder if they're the same ones and how long they live.

There used to be a pair of swans, but I don't recall seeing them for several years. People would kill them from time to time and I wonder if the city just stopped replacing them.

but haven't seen any this year. Do have some egrets on Teller Lake and lots of blue herons. Pairs of phoebes and dippers and lots of swallows nesting under the 63rd st overpass where Boulder Creek is running high. Beautiful but dangerous.
