So I was talking to this lady last night...

...I work at an inbound call center for a national cable company. Not gonna say the name, because they have social media gnomes...anyway. As I said, I was talking to her last night and as a part of the whole 'empathy and rapport building' (yes it's a thing.) part of the call, she told me her cat died. I said something like, 'sorry to hear that' and then she proceeded to tell me that she had to have the cat put down. I figured it would be because of some disease or something like that...but no. She told me she had it put to sleep because it wouldn't do its 'business' in the cat box!

My stomach clenched up in a little knot. I managed to be polite to her through the remainder of the call, but OMG! What the actual fuck is wrong with people?

I remember reading an article, think it was in the ASPCA magazine, that was titled "Litter Box As Letter Box." The point was that if your cat has an issue with his litter box, he's trying to tell you something.

plus, he's always been a barfer so I do quite a bit of cleaning up after him these days but I do it without complaint because I love him.
