Kitten rescued on Main Street: Rusty's the name

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Angie Fox loves animals. So, when she heard a kitten's meow coming from her car but wasn't able to see it, she knew something was wrong.

The wrong was quickly made right, but only after being persistent and getting the help of a mechanic with all the tools. Rusty Newton was the man who came to rescue the kitten.

In the parking lot of Chans Chinese on Main Street, Newton jacked up a car because there was no room under the hood to rescue the kitten who was lodged somewhere in the engine. The occasional cry for help came from below.

"See it. There he is," said Newton as slid from beneath the car holding a black kitten that was newly born.

The cat's not newly born like the article says, but he/she is pretty young...maybe 4-5 weeks I'd say.

But I think he'll be ok...cute and lots of publicity will get him a forever home.
