DU is an American based political message board. What if Skinner and EarlG franchised it out to other countries? What would a UK DU board look like? Or a French DU message board? Or a Brazilian one?

"Escargot! Batter dipped, or corn flakes s'il vous plaît?"
Reply #1: Sacre bleu! Any moron knows escargot should always be baked in corn flakes crumbs.
#2: Pissoire on you, merde-head, You are not a real Frenchmans unless your escargot is deep fried in batter.
#3: You are both wrong! Vous êtes une pomme de terre avec le visage d'un cochon d'inde! I eat escargot RAW!

(7,515 posts)I had heard about the great debate... So sorry I missed it.
though to be fair, an English version might get all mixed up with accusations of being Tossers and Wankers, and opponents being instructed to Piss Off.

(41,203 posts)The UK does have some good political message boards of its own; though the development of a DU equivalent is hampered by the fact that the British left has always been factionalized, and that Labour has forfeited the support of many left-wingers -so that many left-wing posters will steer clear of Labour Home, for example. I like Liberal Conspiracy (which, though UK-based, uses 'liberal' in its American sense); but I understand it is coming to an end.
