Saw them twice at Bimbo's and once at the Paramount. At the Paramount, while they were performing "White Punks On Dope," the guitar lineup was Bill Spooner, Roger Steen, a guy in a gorilla suit, and...Boz Scaggs. Yep, he was riding high on the success of "Silk Degrees" at the time. He wore a dark blue pinstripe suit and was playing a white Strat and the fucker looked SHARP. At one point during the song Fee yelled "Isn't that Boz Scaggs on dope?" At one point you could stream / purchase this exact show on "Wolfgang's Vault." Maybe you still can...I haven't checked that site out for a while.

I felt bad for Mingo Lewis, who "joined" the band near the time of their third album...they told him they didn't want him to actually become a full member and assume the band's financial debt because they were going down like the Titanic. So he was a hired gun on paper. They spent a small fortune on their stage shows and NEVER made it back in ticket or album sales. They kind of lost me whrren they started chasing hits and having guys like Todd Rundgren involved in their music. I understood the necessity of it but if you saw the original band osn stage...the guys who wrote and performed those first three albums...you might feel the same.

I love Completion Backward Principle and I still listen to it at least once a week on my IPod. Their crazy sense of humor is in full play and every track is as rockin' and tight as it can get.
