Trees, birds - NOT sacred!1 O.K., here's the deal.

Some species of whatever are valued as "quality" - like "wildflowers" are actually WEEDS.

So the word "tree" is automatically 'sposed to be special. Uh, no, there's this weedlike "tree" that grows, fine.

Stay with me here.

So it's well known that birds perch anywhere and everywhere, AND that they POOP. And in their poop are SEEDS.

So, trees grow from the poop where the birds PERCHED, which means, UNDER THE ELECTRICAL WIRES.

So I approached futilely this wingnut old jerk neighbor about letting me trim a branch off his weed tree that was brushing my electrical wire and he refused.

So I hate him but who cares.

Anyway, it is now in my power to CUT THE ENTIRE TREE DOWN.

Now, THINK about it, YOU who are judging me. Not every tree is sacred. Just because a bird perched and took a shit UNDER MY WIRE doesn't mean I should TAKE IT.

I used to do line clearance tree trimming and we would knock on peoples' doors to inform them that we were cutting back their trees. Some would pitch a blue bitch up until their tree caught fire and knocked out their and their neighbors power.
I suggest you just cut the limbs well back from your service drop and let the matter go. It'll keep things civil.
And if he still bitches about it, cut the whole thing down. Fuck him.

I love trees, planted a bunch, let a lot volunteer on the farm. But I also want my powerline to be clear of tree limbs. First, I don't want my power knocked out every time the wind blows. Second, if it happens when it's dry, I don't want a fire!

I've called our local power company to have them come trim trees when I think they're growing too close to the lines. They are always happy to come out to do it. Better in the daylight when they can work safer than in the middle of the night in a storm when it is more dangerous.

I can understand trimming it for safety reasons, but if you choose to cut it all the way down because of how you feel about your neighbor, that's not cool at all. Let it go and let the tree live.

I HATE weed trees, especially the golden rain tree. It grows rediculously fast and drops thousands (not exaggerating) of seedlings. I even have my little students in my home preschool excited about finding and removing them while saying, "Evil!" It makes them feel like a powerful force on the side of good.

...or worse, my indifference to fence line bird poop. As an organic gardener it's all free nitrogen to me!

Worst case is what the "jet" setting of my sprayer is for: cleaning up bird poop on both sides of the fence.

Sure, if there's some simple dispute, I'll cut. If it's more complex issue and I don't have any money in the bank and the tree is big, then they can cut.

Disputes with my neighbors are rare, maybe once a decade and we've never required a third party to resolve them.
