Had a bit of outpatient surgery yesterday afternoon.

My favorite kidney stone was still deep inside somewhere, not giving any indication that it wanted out. So the doc decided to force the issue.

It was quick and painless- they used that shockwave treatment to bust it up, and it worked fine. No need to stick objects into small holes ifyouknowwhatImean. I gotta say, I LOVE that stuff they used to put me to sleep- all I remember is wheeling toward the operating room and five seconds later waking up in Recovery. I do recall someone putting a blue oxygen mask on my face and giving me a couple blasts of air, but I have no idea if it was at the beginning or end of the process.

Taking it easy today then FINALLY back to the world for a while. I'm tired of all the back pain. Glad to know it's gonna go away now.

From personal experience, I will state that there is a certain blissfulness of being sedated. TexasTowelie Jun 2014 #2

I'm still waiting for a fun medical adventure.

Even with supposedly "good" prescribed and legal drugs I've never escaped my normal intellectual analytical self.

Not even drugs of the illicit sort, mushrooms included.

My personal burden, my personal curse...

The one that I remember the most was taking Halcion when I had my wisdom teeth removed. Anesthesia and hydrocodone are also pleasant although I usually cough afterwards when anesthesized.

Of the psychoactives that I tried mushrooms and ecstasy were the best, particularly when combined into what I called the MX missile. I had a perma-press smile that went from El Paso to Beaumont.
