Toad Lore

A dried toad's tongue would incite love or lust in a woman.

A bone from a toad's leg would cure fevers.

In Dorset, England, Toad Fairs were held where part of toads were sold or amulets of carved toads could be acquired as protection.

Live toads worn in a muslin sack around one's neck would cure scrofula also called The King's Evil.

Toads were cut open to remove a bit called the "toadstone", which was ground up and put in drinks to cure poisonings.
