(11,791 posts)seeing as though I have a love/hate relationship with flying, and I'm taking my first 747 flight in a bit over a week.
Funny though!

(204,779 posts)I took my first 747 flight back when I was in high school. I was with my father and I think he changed flights so we could fly on the new 747, Phoenix, AZ, to Chicago, if I remember right. We'd been to visit my grandmother (Dad's mother) in Arizona and it was pretty cool. They told all about the number of elevators, etc., when we were on the plane and my Dad took notes on the air sickness bag to send back to his mother, LOL. It's definitely a much smoother flight than on a smaller plane and this was in the '70s so they must have most of the kinks worked out by now... Wishing you an uneventful flight.

(11,791 posts)I'm off to Germany and Spain for three weeks. I can't wait. I'll probably sleep most of the flight, but I am really excited!!

(204,779 posts)And I was told that we still had six hours to go. I figure now that it must have been because I had a glass of wine followed by strong (Finnish) coffee. I know now not to do that again. However, the flight attendants were incredibly nice. I totally recommend Finnair, LOL. Seriously, I hope that you have a smooth and uneventful flight. Most of them are and it sounds like you have a terrific destination. Wishing you a great time!
