It'd be like seeing The Doors without Jim Morrison, Nirvana without Kurt Cobain, Sublime without Brad Nowell, etc etc.

The tickets were actually reasonable by today's standards.
I'm old enough to have a $7.00 ticket for a Springsteen show in 1978 (Darkness on the Edge of Town, his second major tour) and that was about 15 years after my first pop concert when I was a little kid.
