Best joke I've heard in a long time.

A Southerner walks into a bar in New England. He asks the bartender, “Did y’all go to Harvard?”

The bartender says, “Yale.”

“Okay,” says the Southerner. “DID Y’ALL GO TO HARVARD?”

Southerners don't say 'y'all' to just one person. They say 'you'. Although, depending where in the South you are from, it might come out 'Yeeeee-ewwwww'.

are played by non-Southerners with really bad fake accents (Quaid brothers excepted).

"All y'all" is for a larger group of people than "y'all" can comfortably encompass.

We say 'you guys' a lot.

I remember when I discovered that the NY-NJ 'youse' was the equivalent of 'y'all' - it's a plural, and never used as a singular. In fact, until I fell in love with a Jersey girl, I didn't know that people even said it in real life.
