I haven't seen my calico cat, AC, since the early part of April. My sister in Houston (not the one that has posted on DU) is taking care of her while I try to reestablish myself. It looks like she got a couple of marks on her nose from bumping into her cage, but she is being fed and taken care of during my absence. I missed her third birthday, but I hope to be reunited with her soon.

I've set the photo as background wallpaper on my computer.

She sleeps on my bed next to me, is a complete lap kitteh and we have our own means of communication. She even has the ability to sense my emotional state. Out of the four kittens in the litter that was born in my apartment, AC was the most dependent and connected to me since she was the scrawniest of the litter.

The SSDI process is moving along reasonably quick so I'm hoping that they will make a determination by the end of July. I listed my date of being disabled as occurring in early February when I found out that I had chronic anemia so the five month waiting period for benefits would end in July also. It would be really nice if I could set up new living conditions in October after the weather cools down so I could watch a couple of college football games and attend Homecoming. It would also help alleviate some pressure for my brother since he recently found out that he is also diabetic--at least he has a better understanding of what I've been going through for the last 17 years.

I have heard too many stories of having to give a pet up and those stories are heartbreaking.

Gorgeous cat, gorgeous background!
