Although Briscoe had some really great lines, Elaine Stritch's defense attorney had a lot, too. In one episode, she comes in to the lineup room, looks at the motley people they have lined up against the wall, turns to the detectives and says, "Looks like a cable access audition for A Chorus Line." Later, when the suspect ID'd in the lineup is let go, she turns to Briscoe and says, "Show's closed. Lack of backing." Lenny had some kind of snappy answer, but can't think of it right now.

Jerry Orbach and Stritch played really well off of each other -- you got a really good sense of their stage training in their scenes.
