If there's anyone left who doesn't understand the appeal of World Cup Football (Spoiler Alert)

they obviously weren't watching todays game between Holland and Mexico.

denied penalties, early substitutions, withering heat, time outs for water breaks, outstanding performances by a goalkeeper.

this game had it all.

well done to both teams.

Game of the tournament for me so far.

Lets hope the USA-Belgium delivers the same.

Because the Dutch guy just barely got touched and down he went, resulting in a free kick and the game for the Netherlands team. I think this is a major reason why we just don't like soccer in this country.

The "flopper" had been fouled in the area twice earlier with no penalty...in this case he was technically fouled.

Flop or not it was a penalty

at least we weren't subjected to 10 minutes of instant replays and advertising.

That really was a foul and a penalty. Marques steps on Robben's foot.

BTW, The word you're looking for is "diving". Saying "flopping" will cause you to not be taken seriously discussing this sport with fans.. Real fans hate diving as well.

No snark, sorry if that's how it comes across.

Or various other prima-donna like behavior, especially in the end zone.

and soccer "diving" or whatever they call it. First of all, when an NBA player flops, they can, and sometimes do, get called on it. And two points out of 90 or so usually doesn't decide a game the way it does in a soccer match. Terrible analogy.

That's what I thought you were asking.

World Cup tournament games have already started. They are currently in the round of 16. In other words, 16 teams vying for a place in the quarterfinals. England has already been knocked out of the tournament.

Hope this helps.

The Costa Rica game was tremendous, too.
Players could hardly stand when the game was over they were so tired.

And I learn new rules all the time!1 Costa Rica (yay!) vs Greece went into TWO!1 fifteen minutes overtimes, like, WHAT, aren't they tired ENOUGH?!1 And then they were STILL TIED and they went to PENALTY kicks are you kidding me, where it ceases being a TEAM and everybody knows your name if you f-up are you KIDDING ME?!1

So ONE Greek guy f-upped and therefore LITTLE Costa Rica wins, like, well O.K.!!!!!!!!!1
