1. Buy baby back ribs in plastic pouch.
2. Leave pouches on porch (black side up) at noon.
3. Open pouches around 6:00 pm and enjoy!
They end up perfectly cooked.

(7,720 posts)and that's sacrilege. Besides that, it's been a long time since the temperature has gotten up to 107° in Minnesota.
A few years ago, we had the hottest place on the planet in Minnesota. The temperature was 103°, the humidity was 93% and the heat index was 134°.

(78,249 posts)I don't suppose there's such a thing as a solar slow-cooker?
Throd
(7,208 posts)Considering how hot it gets in Sacramento, I thought this would be good idea. Free heat from the sun. No pollution. I'm lazy. What's not to like?
Once I perfect my prototype, I'll share the design with y'all.

(10,946 posts)Have you actually cooked ribs that way and how do they taste? Do you any type of Bar-B-Q sauce or marinade? How do keep any roaming dogs from taking off with your ribs?
Throd
(7,208 posts)I buy the pre-marinaded variety.
All the dogs around here are sad, old beasts, but if I left it out at night a bobcat or coyote would snag it.

(27,648 posts)IMO, the best rib place in the world used to be just south of Sacramento on Interstate 80,
called "Emil Villa's Hickory Pit"
Their "St. Louis style" ribs were the best,
they baked their own bread, rolls, & pies, (25 different kinds)..
I wonder if they're still there?
