(17,005 posts)I just got back from her walk to do her business. Sassy loves to show off her walk to the other neighborhood dogs!
She's wearing a sweater today...it's cool out with strong winds.

(17,005 posts)Just before my cataract surgery in April, I lost my other min pin, black and tan, named Scrapper.
Scrapper and I are in this last photo taken together before he passed.
Sassy misses him terribly and boy so do I, he was a great companion for her...we loss him to cancer.
I'm so sorry for your loss of Scrapper.
Such a beautiful picture of the two of you!

(204,687 posts)Thanks for posting Scrapper, too, wonderful photo. And I can certainly identify. I had two dogs, too, both rescue Brussels Griffons, but I lost Meneken (on the right) at age 14, still have the other pup, Jack, who I adopted as a puppy in 2006. In the past, I've adopted older dogs, but I'm grateful that Jack was so young (5 months), hoping to have him for at least a couple of decades.

(17,005 posts)Yes I hope you have Jack for a lease a couple of decades. He's a cutie!
Thank you so much for posting your photo of you and your sweet babies.

(204,687 posts)I figured I'd reply in kind, though I'm extremely reluctant to post pix on the internets, even if it's DU.
Here's Jackie today, no longer a puppy, but he's still one to me...

(204,687 posts)In the beginning, it was tough, but he was just being a puppy, something I just wasn't used to. But he's become my best buddy, can't imagine life without him...

(17,005 posts)I sure can relate to what you say Rhiannon12866.
Very nice , his puppy photo, just darling!

(204,687 posts)Seems like a lifetime ago when I wouldn't let him on the bed because I'd invariably find a wet spot. Brussels Griffons can be a one person dog. Meneken was, wasn't comfortable with much of anyone but me. He'd previously belonged to an elderly lady who died. Jack, on the other hand, learned early. He was a pet shop dog who couldn't be sold because of a health problem (a hernia which was repaired when he was neutered) and was fostered at the local Animal Emergency Clinic, so he got used to everybody at a very young age. He's a good traveler, too, almost never manages to get get out of his doggy seatbelt, LOL.
Recent trip to the groomer:

(17,005 posts)Just watched her the early days of having her with her personality, her name shined through, Sassy!
I did the same for the kitty crew.
Thanks femmocrat, she is a sweetheart!!

(72,300 posts)How does she like the kittens?
Crewleader
(17,005 posts)Jealous of the kitty crew...so that's why I had to dedicate a large room for them and when they do cross paths, I got to keep my eye on Sassy, she goes right for their tails.
Her favorite thing is going to Lowes' at the nursery and riding the carriage...with her dog pillow of course. And growls at anyone that comes near us. It's funny, "can I pet your doggie?" the growling turns them away before they finish asking.
You be careful in the weather your having I_T_W.

(7,906 posts)You beautiful girl!
Crewleader, you pick out the most awesome pet names.
Crewleader
(17,005 posts)The pets do a good job of it themselves by being who they are.
I wait and watch them closely and between their looks, behavior and personality, the names shine through.
That's how they all get named with their help.

(9,951 posts)she looks just like our Bonnie, a pit/shepperd, except Bonnie's ears are longer and floppier and she has slate grey eyes.
Our black female cat constantly chases her through the house, even though Bonnie is 3 time her size, we tell Bonnie all the time that she's a disgrace to her species.
