There are so many idioms from the South it is hard to keep up.

I've never heard "Shaking like a dog shitting a peach seed"

but I have most certainly heard

as fucked up as a football bat.

I thought my friend had made that one up himself. I've never heard anyone else use it. But the peach seed thing was VERY common where I grew up. How's ya mamma 'n 'em?

There are so many customs and phrases that are not just Southern, but very sub-regional within the South. I could not possibly keep up with all of them.

I can see where the peach seed tale would be prevalent in MS and GA where peach trees are common.

The football bat thing. I have no idea where that could have originated.
