Windows Vista Or Windows 7- buying a refurbished computer and need help PLEASE

Please, please, please…

Am going to buy my own refurbished laptop and can choose between one with Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Does anyone have an opinion on which operating system is better?

I have used Apple (my father's choice) but Windows is easy enough to use too.

And was never particularly wonderful in the first place, despite it's widespread use. There's a reason many businesses and places liked xp so much. I would strongly recommend going with windows 7; there will be support for it far longer, and it's much more capable. It also has significant security improvements. If the choice was between windows 7 vs windows 8, that's a tougher choice. But windows vista vs windows 7? Definitely go with the latter.t

That said, I'm waiting for 8/8.1 to die off before I replace my 5 yrs old thing, hoping the Win10 (they're skipping "9&quot will be on the "good" side (XP, 7).

(Psst, it really sounds like I know what I'm talking about, right?!1)

Avoid Vista or 8 like the plagues they are.

I bought a new Lenovo Windows 7 about 2 years ago, and I have been very happy with it.

Good luck!

Lenovo now makes their own, very good, computing machines. They also continue to make Thinkpads in accordance to IBM guidelines.

Lenovo got sold to the Chinese, but it's still a very good computer. My computer guy (who I trust more than most anybody!) recommended Lenovo to me.

It's outdated, buggy, and highly vulnerable to malware! Win7 is vastly superior in every respect, IMHO. Install Win7, and then work that machine into the ground, or until there's a new OS to replace Win8.* that works as well as WinXP did in its day.

I repeat--Vista was shitty; avoid it like Republicans.

My 2cts.
